The project mandate was to create interesting vinaigrette packaging for les Marchés Publics de Montréal in order to attract a larger audience to the public markets all across the city.
Marchés Publics de Montréal is known for their local, fresh and organic products. The vinaigrette packaging sold in stores is often outdated and does not stand out from one brand to another. This is the reason why I wanted to take a more bold and colorful approach so that it stands from its competition.
In my approach, I wanted to adhere to Marchés Publics de Montreal's values and find a way to attract customers, while still remaining ecological. Targeting clients who are new to cooking and want something easy and quick to use in the kitchen. As an addition to the visually appealing labels, I wanted to add something to the overall packaging. I decided to include tags with the recipe to the vinaigrettes in order for customers to replicate and reuse the glass bottle as many times as they please. Using a glass bottle to contain the product also creates an upscale image to the brand. In addition, the three vinaigrettes can be sold in a trio or on their own. The box that holds the dressing trio is made out of cardboard, which is a more ecological alternative to using plastic.
